Trivia

  • Dal is not his given name, but he does not remember his real name
  • After committing a grave sin, he was cursed to 42 cycles of life and death as a monster
  • During this time, Dal reflected deeply on his actions but could not convince the higher being to lift the curse
  • The time as a monster shaped him enormously and made him develop ptsd and depression
  • In his last cycle, Maia offered to help him turn human again in return for 2 years of his help changing suicidal people's lives
  • During those 2 years, Dal was assigned to a company secretary, Sunhwa who is being bullied at her workplace and is stuck in a similar mindset as Dal
  • The both of them became close to one another, but as Sunhwa discovered the secret he had been hiding, Dal fell back into his suicidal mindset from fear of rejection

"Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look-"

When he was young, Dal committed a grave sin that forever stained his conscience. As a consequence, a curse was placed upon him, dooming him to 42 cycles of life and death trapped in the form of a monstrous creature. Through these lonely cycles, he was confronted with the weight of his past actions, burdened by his developing PTSD and depression.

Salvation arrived in the form of Maia, the Goddess of the guiding light. She offered him a glimmer of hope: two years of service dedicated to helping those in need of help in exchange for the opportunity to metamorphose back into his human form.
During this time, Dal was asked to help Sunhwa, a company secretary who was confronted with relentless bullying and an sense of hopelessness. Despite their deep connection, his fear of rejection and past trauma followed him around like a ghost.

His darkest nightmares would come true, when in an attempt to stop Sunhwa from hurting herself, his half-transformed crippled body was exposed, sending him down a spiral of self-hate and depression. Terrified by his looks, Sunhwa herself also distanced herself from Dal, abandoning her only source of comfort during this time, only to later realize that she still yearned for his company, no matter his past.
Months passed by and as she could not take it anymore, Sunhwa tried to end her life. Fortunately for her, Maia had already placed her worried eyes on the two of them. She send Sunhwa to Dal, who has withered away in a secluded, dark flat and had hurt himself on numerous occasions. Just as Sunhwa found him, he was in a critical condition, having tried to remove his extra arms from him himself. Luckily, he recovered quickly and reconciled with Sunhwa.
After finishing his promised service to Maia, he was turned completely human, with only a huge spider marking on his back, reminding him of his past.
